    Built for people losing weight

The weight comes off mostly through what you eat. EMS is the training alongside it: one-to-one, 20 minutes, all your main muscle groups at once.

    Train while you diet

Dieting can take muscle with the fat. In a 16-week trial of overweight women on a calorie-controlled diet with extra protein, lean mass rose slightly in the group that added EMS and dipped slightly in the two groups without it, though the differences were too small to be statistically significant.

    Firm, not just smaller

As the weight comes off, the muscle underneath shapes how you look. NHS hospital advice on loose skin after weight loss says building that muscle can sometimes improve how skin looks, and EMS works all your main muscle groups at once.

    What the research says

Whole-body EMS has been tested in controlled trials, and in studies of people training in clinics and studios. These are the findings that matter when you are losing weight, with who was studied, so you can judge for yourself.

    Weight Loss Questions

It depends on your starting point, your eating, your sleep and how often you train. In the studies, the weight came off mainly through diet, with EMS as the strength training alongside it. At your introduction session your trainer sets a realistic plan with you.

It is what most people losing weight worry about. EMS builds muscle in all your main muscle groups, and NHS hospital advice on loose skin says building the muscle underneath can sometimes improve how skin looks. In one study, strength and aerobic training both improved skin elasticity, though EMS itself has not been tested on skin. How much skin tightens also depends on your age, genetics, sun exposure and how quickly you lose weight, and no training removes loose skin completely, so after a very large weight loss, talk to your GP.

For weight loss, what you eat matters most, and EMS works best alongside a balanced diet. We don't require any specific diet plan. Many clients find that training regularly naturally improves their eating habits.

They do different jobs. EMS works all your main muscle groups at once, so a 20-minute session covers the whole body with a trainer guiding you throughout. It suits people who want an efficient, structured workout.

Perfect for you. Your trainer controls the intensity, starting gently and building up. Many of our most successful weight-loss clients started as complete beginners.

Most clients feel the difference after two or three sessions. Visible change takes longer and varies from person to person. Training consistently is what counts.

EMS isn't suitable during pregnancy. After the birth, check with your GP or midwife before starting any new exercise. If you've had a caesarean, recent surgery in the area rules EMS out until your doctor clears you. We ask about this in your health check.

EMS isn’t suitable during pregnancy; with a pacemaker or other electronic implant; with epilepsy or another neurological condition, heart rhythm problems, narrowed or hardened arteries, untreated high blood pressure, a bleeding disorder, or a hernia in the abdomen or groin; within six months of a stent or bypass; soon after surgery in the area being trained; while you are unwell or have an infection; or after alcohol or drugs. With diabetes, cancer, heart or kidney disease, new back pain that hasn’t been diagnosed, nerve pain or a slipped disc, or an implant such as a joint replacement, you need your doctor’s approval first. We go through your health history before your first session, and if you’re unsure, check with your GP.
